This axe is almost identical to our previous Hultafors trekking axe which has sadly been discontinued, The difference is a longer handle by 6cm and a head which is 100g heavier than the last one.
The hultafors trekking axe was so popular they decided to discontinue it as they couldn't meet demand!

A customised Hultafors hatchet, The handle has been customised using a Japanese Woodburning technique called Sho Sugi Ban, This Yakasugi style was traditionally used on house cladding as it is fire, water and rot / mould resistant due to the layer of charring on the wood.

The handle is burnt, Brushed with a wire brush and then oiled and sanded with wire wool several times to create a stunning blackened handle which is extremely resistant to the elements.

The axe comes shaving sharp and is supplied with the same sheath that Hultafors supply the axe with.

Sheath - The standard Sheath is the same as the one supplied by Hultafors dyed a darker brown.
